About Boggy Branch StudioRecording is PersonalSound has always been part of my life. When I was about ten years old, my uncle returned from overseas with a fine stereo system and an album of sound effects. We sat in a dark room listening to a train recording in stereo — and I not only heard it, I saw it in my mind. That moment lit a lifelong love of sound. As a teenager, my parents gave me a small reel-to-reel recorder, and I began capturing everything I could. Later, working in advertising, I spent years shaping audio for clients. Recording has never been about buttons or wires — for me, it has always been about capturing life itself. The StudioIn 2005, after Hurricane Katrina, I gathered fallen trees, had them milled, and — with the help of family and friends — designed and built this studio by hand. Every beam and wall carries the story of resilience, community, and the belief that from loss, something new can be created. For the past 17 years, Boggy Branch Studio has been my creative home. It blends the warmth of handcrafted wood with both vintage and modern tools: a 32-channel Toft Audio Board, digital converters, classic outboard gear, and everything needed to produce professional results in a comfortable, inspiring space. What I Do
Why It MattersRecording isn’t just technical work here — it’s personal. Whether you’re a solo artist making your first demo, a band capturing live energy, or a family preserving a message for the future, my goal is always the same: to make your sound feel alive — true to who you are, and lasting for years to come. |
